While getting a review is a good way to get an extra link and perhaps an exxtra few readers to realy boost the link popularity when you start out you can not quite beat a good quality listing in a free directory.

There are many such directories just for "blogs" and (some even charge for listing).

Because of this we commisioned Lord Matt to create us a review of these blog directories. What he came up with was more than just a simple review and listing it was a "full on" sortable index of the good, the bad and the ugly of directories.

The Great Directory Review (issue 1) lists clearly the directories, their Alexa Rank and thier strngths and weaknesses as well as highligting the requirements for listing.

Many are suitable for general sites but all are suitable for blogs.
